What is a PBGV?

Petit (small)

Basset (low to the ground)

Griffon (wire-haired fur coat)

VendEen (the region of France where
                     PBGVs originated)

PBGVs are sturdy little French hounds with superior scenting abilities. Their rough coats make them ideal for pushing through the brambles and thorns found in the fields of
Chester County.
They are vocal hounds with strong voices. PBGVs are friendly extroverts who live with true joie-de-vivre and are generally known as the “Happy Hounds” because of their ever-cheerful disposition.
They love meeting new friends!

Every Skycastle hound is an AKC-certified pure-bred PBGV with clean lineage tracing back to France. To maintain the pack, we selectively breed hounds for conformation and hunting ability, working in cooperation with other breeders.

We cherish our hounds, treat them like family, and spend quality time with each one every day.
